Lanky Co. is the partnership of kids’-industry veterans Animation/Creative Director Cassandra Berger and Writer/Executive Producer J Milligan. With linear and digital experience from Sesame Street, Little Airplane and Toca Boca, and many industry awards and accolades (Emmy, Peabody, BAFTA, Kidscreen and more) Berger and Milligan bring their complementary skills together to create a unique boutique creative development studio. In their first year they have worked with an Oscar winner and landed a development deal with a major network.




Cassandra is an artist and art director specializing in character design and concept art. She has worked with top clients including Nick Jr., Disney Junior, CBeebies, Sprout, Amazon Studios, Marriott, and NHK.

She worked her way up from Digital Designer to Art Director of Little Airplane Productions where she was for 9 years. She headed all visual development and worked on over 15 show pitch bibles and was integral in guiding shows in production from beginning to end.   

At Toca Boca she was the Director of Animation for the Toca TV content team. She was responsible for creating show concepts and developing all original animated content. She designed concept art and character designs, and worked closely with both in-house artists and outside production partners on story and direction.

In her free time she creates custom illustrations of pets from all over the world.

Cassandra lives with her husband and two grumpy senior dogs in Brooklyn.








J has been doing cool things in kids’ media since CD-ROMs were a thing in the 90’s.  He’s an award-winning interactive designer, writer and director, and a steward of some of the world’s most beloved and trusted brands.  He has worked with world-class talent, technology and partners to create content and experiences that enrich the lives of children and families, and built an entire studio and video platform from the ground up.   

At Sesame Street, J was the Creative Director and Head Writer for Digital Media for many years where he did groundbreaking work in apps, games, web, and interactive television.  Later he moved to the Content Innovation Lab where he worked with nascent technologies like AR, VR, connected devices and speech recognition to create future experiences for kids and families.

For Toca Boca, J established the Brooklyn studio, building dedicated technology and content teams of over 20 people.   Toca TV launched worldwide, winning the Kidscreen award for Best Streaming Platform.  At Toca TV, the content team created 15 original shows.

J's work has won multiple Emmys, a BAFTA, the Peabody, Kidscreen, Parent's Choice and numerous other awards.  He is a member of the DGA and WGA.

J lives with his wife Amy and their children and many pets in Brooklyn.
